Summary: This report presents an analysis of employment and labour market trends in the central and eastern European countries for 2000. As agreed at the Goteborg summit, however, as part of the integration of candidate countries into the Union's economic, social and environmental policies, from 2003 the Commission will incorporate the analysis of trends in candidate countries fully into the report, on the same basis as for existing Member States. This is part of the commitment to the future develpment of the Union.
